We're based in Auburn, NY and work with couples throughout Central New York — from Syracuse and Skaneateles to the Finger Lakes, the Adirondacks, and across New York State. Our approach is calm and unobtrusive: we stay out of the way so you can be fully present, while we quietly capture everything that matters.

I've had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. In college, I bought my first Hi8 camcorder off eBay for $60 and brought it on every marching band trip — documenting the chaos, the friendships, and the moments in between. After graduating, I kept filming, creating video yearbooks for students each year. When I was asked to film my first wedding, something clicked. I knew I'd found my calling.
What I love most about wedding filmmaking isn't the gear or the edit — it's the real, unscripted moments. The way a father looks at his daughter before the ceremony. The quiet exhale right after the vows. Those are the things you can't plan, and they're the things you'll want to watch again and again.
By day, I teach music — and that background shapes everything about how I approach a wedding film. Timing, rhythm, storytelling — it all matters. I'm always growing, always learning, and always looking for new ways to make your film feel truly yours.
I'm married to my wonderful partner Ashley, and together we've been filming weddings since 2016. She makes our work better in every way — and you'll want to know her too.
Ashley has been part of The Farrell Films since the very beginning — filming her first wedding alongside Nick in 2016 and never looking back. In the years since, she's become the creative backbone of every film we make.
As a first-grade teacher for over 16 years, Ashley brings a rare combination of patience, warmth, and calm that you can feel the moment she walks into a room. Brides especially notice it — she has a gift for putting people at ease on a day when nerves run high. More than a few couples have told us that Ashley's presence was one of the reasons their wedding day felt so relaxed and joyful.
Having been a bride herself, Ashley understands what matters most when the camera is rolling. She's our creative director on every shoot — with an eye for detail that catches the moments others might miss: the hands, the glances, the small things that make your wedding yours.
Ashley is also a licensed wedding officiant. What started as a labor of love — marrying her own sister — has grown into a meaningful part of her story. If you're looking for someone to both film and officiate your wedding, she'd be honored to be part of your day in both ways.
